Why Should You Learn This Subject?

Scholars have mentioned that knowledge of Quranic parables is one the greatest science within the Quran. Some of the Pious Predecessors (as-Salaf as-Saalih) would test a man’s knowledge based on these parables. If they were able to answer, then they were seen as a scholar.

If a scholar of the past did not understand a parable, they would weep because of Allah’s statement (what can be translated to mean),

“And these parables We present to the people, but none will understand them except those of knowledge.” (29:43)

This shows the importance of this noble science and why we should spend our time learning it.
